for family ski vacations?
Your first visit to one of the US ski resorts will be a real eye-opener, if you've previously just skied in Europe. It's not unusual be hooked on USA ski vacations here from then on, and it is fair to say that there are differences between skiing in North America and Europe.
So, if the idea of US ski resorts for your family ski vacations sounds appealing, what’s the first thing you think of?

There are so many reasons why taking family ski holidays in the States make sense and make the flight from the UK well worth it.
Then there’s the snow, loads of it. Many US ski resorts boast annual snowfall statistics that others can only dream of.

But where to go? There are so many wonderful places, so here are just a few popular destinations.
Colorado ski vacations If you’re looking for world-famous light powder snow, think about a Colorado family ski vacation. You’ve likely heard of places like Vail, Breckenridge, Aspen and Winter Park, but take a look at Steamboat, Arapahoe Basin ski resort or Copper Mountain for well-regarded kids facilities.
Utah If you choose family ski vacations in Utah ski resorts you’ll also find plenty of lovely light powder in places such as Snowbird, Alta, The Canyons or Park City.
California Try a California ski vacation at one of the Lake Tahoe resorts such as Northstar, Squaw Valley ski resort or Alpine Meadows for well thought-out kids facilities, or go further south to Mammoth Mountain ski resort.
New England ski vacation New England ski resorts have the shortest flight time from the UK, and are the most accessible for European visitors. Killington, Stowe and family favourite Smuggler’s Notch are the places you’ll most likely find offered by the large UK tour operators.
Skiing is available in many other States If you relish the idea of taking family ski holidays away from the big areas, why not think about North Carolina ski vacation, Idaho, Oregon, New Mexico or Wyoming.
Getting there If you’re based in the UK and want to ski USA, then start by looking at the tour operators to find a package deal that includes flights.
Look for direct / non-stop flights and easy - in other words, short - transfers to resort.
Waiting with children for connecting flights really doesn’t sound like an appealing start to your family ski holidays, no matter how great the snow will be when you get there.
